About the event

SOMETHING SPICY

Something Spicy is a comedy collective of Indian comedians living in Europe who are eager to share their unique perspectives on life, culture, and all its absurdities with you.

This show promises to be an evening full of spicy jokes, sharp observations, and a good dose of humor from the European Indian diaspora. Get ready to stretch your laugh muscles and fall off your chair laughing!

Kuriakose Vaisian

Kuriakose Vaisian has been doing stand-up for more than five years now, joking about his life, his wife, his family at large, and Jesus Christ. That's a joke; he never makes jokes about his wife. He's performed in multiple cities across India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Cochin, alongside some of the biggest names in the Indian comedy scene, such as Kanan Gill, Kenny Sebastian, Naveen Richard and Biswa Kalyan Rath. Kuria has taken part in various comedy competitions including the PayTM Insider Live Mic sessions as well as Comedy Central India's Sterling Reserve Comedy Project with Varun Thakur, in which he finished second.

Kuria's humor is a mix of observational and anecdotal, drawing a lot of inspiration from his own life and the things that happen around him. He's got an easy, laidback style that makes him relatable and accessible, with audiences taking to him the moment he steps on stage.

Mohna Joshi

Mohna Joshi, an Indian Auntie at heart, brings a unique twist to anecdotal comedy as she navigates life in the Netherlands. Known as "the (older) woman with funny stories," her self-aware humor bridges her Indian roots and European life. With equal parts determination and delight, she proves that laughter is timeless. Her clever and candid stories span everything from cultural faux pas to dating mishaps. Based in Amsterdam, Mohna has performed on stages across Europe and beyond, including Bangkok, Mumbai, London, and New York.

Pratham

Pratham is an upcoming Indian comic who lives in the Netherlands. Having always had a knack for humor (or so he claims), he started his comic journey in the Netherlands in 2024. Bringing a ‘desi’ spin to everyday life, pretty much every topic is fair game!

Abhinav Kumar

Abhi once performed at an LGBT event and got published in a magazine with the pride flag behind him.

People started referring to him as the "gay Leuven comedian", and though he is straight he never corrected anyone because he said, "I'm just so happy they called a comedian! ". He likes telling jokes with horrible puns hidden within just like raisins in a rum cake. He also talks in the third person for no particular reason.

Arjun Sharma

"Friend, philosopher, retired horseflesh farmer, a face that launched a thousand ships, a body that won't quit despite being asked politely. Father, comedian, really tired", Arjun is from India and, as per government regulations, an engineer. That hasn't stopped him from blundering through life and into standup & fatherhood. Will work for a kindly glance, silks from the East, money, and an Oxford comma.

He has performed all over the Netherlands and Belgium over the past few years. He's the damn immigrant looking to take jobs from hardworking Luxembourg comedians.

Arsel

Amit

Karan Karthik

Karan Karthik is an Indian-born comedian who found his comedic voice in the Netherlands. Known for blending sharp wit with thought-provoking topics, Karan tackles themes like prejudice, racism, mental health, and relationships, leaving audiences laughing and introspective.

A regular in the Dutch comedy scene, Karan has performed at festivals such as the Utrecht International Comedy Festival (UICF) and MAD Goat Comedy Festival. He is currently touring with his solo show, ‘Any Color You Like,’ which explores life’s contradictions with humor and insight.

“Genial and funny, Karan offers a comedic trip that will twist your sides better than overpriced yoga.” - Max van Dijk (OMG! Groningen)“Karan brilliantly blends comedy with psychology, leaving audiences both entertained and introspective!” - Rami Nima (Dutch Comedy Legend)
